HP Tuners RTD4 – Getting Started with PPEI in the TDN App

Follow these 6 steps on your phone using the HP Tuners TDN (Tune Delivery Network) app. The app walks you through each screen. These are just the key points.

What You Need

  • iPhone or Android phone, fully charged
  • Internet connection, with Bluetooth turned ON
  • HP Tuners RTD4 device
  • Vehicle with a fully charged battery
  • Your invite code (emailed to you by PPEI support)

Step 1Download the TDN App

  • iPhone: get Tune Delivery Network (TDN) from the App Store.
  • Android: get Tune Delivery Network (TDN) from the Google Play Store.

Step 2Log In or Create an HP Tuners Account

  • Open the app and go to the Account screen.
  • Log in with your email and password, or create a new HP Tuners account there.

Step 3Enter Your PPEI Invite Code

The PPEI support team will email you your invite code. Your code depends on whether you purchased Powersports or Automotive tuning. Do this before you read your ECM.

  1. Tap the Account tab (the person icon in the bottom menu).
  2. Tap LINK TUNER (blue button).
  3. In the Enter an Invite Code box, type the invite code PPEI support emailed you.
  4. Tap Done.

PPEI should now show under LINKED TUNERS.

Step 4Set Up (Pair) Your RTD4

  • Allow Bluetooth access when the app asks.
  • Plug the RTD4 into the vehicle's OBD-II port and turn the ignition ON.
  • When the STAT light is solid, hold the button on the front of the RTD4 until the BT light flashes.
  • Confirm the pairing request on your phone.
  • Let the app finish syncing and any updates (this can take several minutes). Keep your phone online and near the RTD4.

Step 5Read Your ECM

  • Make sure you entered your invite code and PPEI shows under LINKED TUNERS (Step 3).
  • Tap FLASH (READ / WRITE in the new design), then READ VEHICLE.
  • Key ON – ENGINE OFF, then tap OK.
  • Do not start the engine, turn the key off or unplug the RTD4 until the read is done. It can take several minutes. Keep your phone close and online.
  • Open your vehicle's folder and look for the green check mark next to the read.

Step 6Sync Files

  • Your read is sent to PPEI automatically. You don't need to email or send any files.
  • To make sure, tap SYNC FILES.
  • That's it. PPEI will take it from here.

Check your internet, log in to your account again, then tap SYNC FILES once more.
STAT light is solid red
The RTD4 has detected voltage over 15.5V. Running it above 15.5V can damage the device. The light goes back to green when voltage drops.
