Device Configuration Guide

AUTOCAL SETUP & CONFIGURATION

Prerequisites

Ensure you have the email from PPEI containing your specific BBX file before beginning this

process.

Initial Setup & Firmware Check

1 Connect Device

Plug your AutoCal device into your computer using the provided USB cable.

2 Launch EFILive

Open the EFILive Scan and Tune application on your computer.

3 Verify Software Version

Look at the ABOUT button at the top right-hand corner of the Scan and Tune window (DO

NOT CLICK THE BUTTON). Verify that the version number is V8.2.24 or newer.

14 Check Firmware Status

Click on the Check Firmware button to ensure your device is up to date.

You will know it is updated if both Bootblock and Firmware indicators are GREEN.

If they are not updated, you must update the BOOTBLOCK FIRST, and then update the

firmware.

Device Configuration

5 Access BBX Settings

Now you will configure the device for the specific truck you are trying to tune. On the Scan

and Tune window, click the button that says F5: BBX.

6 Open Quick Setup

A new window will open titled "BBL Enabled Controllers" at the top. Click the

F6: QUICK SETUP button.

27 Load BBX File

The "Quick Setup Manager" window will appear. Towards the lower half of the screen,

click the OPEN QUICK SETUP button.

Important File Location

Open the email sent to you from PPEI containing the BBX file. This BBX file

MUST be saved to your Desktop, or the following steps will not work.

Once your computer's file explorer opens, navigate to the Desktop and double-click the

saved BBX file.

38 Select Controller for Scanning

After loading the BBX file, look to the left side of the window and click bring you to a page showing a list of all controllers.

Select the appropriate controller code for your vehicle by clicking the white checkbox next

to the controller that identifies your truck (refer to the ECM list below).

9 Select Controller for Tuning

Click F3: Tune on the left-hand side of the window. Perform the exact same action: click

the white checkbox that identifies the truck you are trying to tune.

10 Format and Program

Look at the bottom of the window for the red PROGRAM button. Next to it is a downward-

pointing arrow.

Click that arrow and select Format CONFIG file system.

Once the format is complete, click the arrow again and select the middle option (this

will say SLOWER).

Configuration Complete

The device is now successfully configured for your truck!
