We’re excited to have you on board! DEBETA is a powerful tool we originally built for our own in-house tuning and development. Because of that, the software is very “raw” – it works great when used correctly, but it’s not as polished or forgiving as a consumer app. 

To avoid any problems (especially the risk of damaging an ECU), please read and follow these instructions carefully. We’re here to help every step of the way!

- PCAN-USB adapter 

- DSUB9 to OBD-II cable 

- Fuse-jumper unlock cable for 2017–2019 L5P Duramax

- Fuse-jumper unlock cable for 2020–2023 L5P Duramax & E90 vehicles

- USB security dongle (your license key – keep it safe!)

- 2017–2023 Duramax L5P trucks (E41 ECM) 

- 2019–2021 Silverado/Sierra 1500 with 5.3L or 6.2L gas engines (E90 ECM – Non-Global B only) 

- 2019–2020 Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban with 5.3L or 6.2L gas engines (E90 ECM – Non-Global B only)

- 2013–2021 Dodge/Ram 6.7L Cummins ECM 

- 2013–2018 Ram Aisin transmission TCM 

- 2011–2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke ECM/TCM 

- 2006–2023 Duramax ECMs 

1. Place Your Unlock Order (Unlocks will be available for order beginning Monday, December 1^st)

                Go to our website and order the unlock for the exact vehicle you want to work on. 

                You will need to give us: 

                 - The full 17-digit VIN of the vehicle 

                 - The 4-digit code printed on the back of your USB security dongle 

2. Wait for Us to Prepare Your Files 

                 We will build the latest stock calibration file for your truck and upload it. 

                This usually takes 24 hours or less (we’ll let you know when it’s ready).

3. Schedule Your Remote Unlock Session 

Once the file is ready, we’ll contact you to set up a quick TeamViewer remote session.  (We will install the DEBETA software and drivers on your computer whenever we assist you with your first vehicle unlock.) One of our techs will walk you through the entire unlock process in real-time – it usually takes 20-40 minutes.

- A Windows 10 or Windows 11 laptop with at least two free USB-A ports 

- Reliable internet connection at the vehicle (hotspot is fine) 

- A good-quality battery charger/maintainer connected to the truck and turned on 

  (keeps battery above 12 V the whole time – this is the #1 cause of failed unlocks) 

- Needle-nose pliers or a fuse puller tool 

   Make sure you are using the right fuse-jumper cable for the year of the truck.

   - Install the fuse-jumper cable 

   - Turn the parking/running lights ON (headlight switch in the “parking light” position) 

   - Start the engine – it should run normally 

   - Now turn the parking/running lights OFF 

   → The engine should shut off immediately 

If the engine keeps running when the lights are turned off, the fuse-jumper is not installed correctly. Fix it before we start!

   Connect a good charger and verify the dashboard shows 13–14 V with the charger running. 

   The battery voltage must remain above 12.0 V throughout are unlocking process. 

   If voltage drops too low, the ECU can be permanently damaged and will need to be replaced.

That’s it! Once those three things are confirmed, the remote session is smooth and painless.
